Sayed Darwish joined Polycom on August 8, 2005. He is responsible for oversight of Legal, Corporate Governance, Equity Program Administration, Global Citizenship, and Information Technology. Sayed is also leading the "Excellence in Delivery" program—Polycom's effort to simplify systems and processes across the company. Sayed was promoted to executive vice president in February 2011.
Prior to joining Polycom, Sayed served as vice president and general counsel for EMC Corporation's Software Group. Sayed joined EMC in 2003 after its acquisition of Documentum, Inc., where Sayed was vice president, general counsel and secretary.
Sayed also served as vice president and general counsel at Forté Software, Inc. where he helped manage the successful merger of Forté with Sun Microsystems, Inc. Sayed also worked as corporate counsel at Oracle Corporation and as an associate in the law firm of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison.
He is a graduate of the University of San Francisco School of Law, J.D. cum laude; and holds a B.S. in Mathematics and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Illinois, Urbana.
