New Polycom KIRK Handsets Revolutionise Mobile Communications for Healthcare Professionals

KIRK 70-Handset Series offer seamless communications with improved mobility, responsiveness and efficiency for the healthcare industry

LONDON/SLOUGH, UK - 16 Jun 2010 : Polycom, Inc. [Nasdaq: PLCM], the global leader in telepresence, video and voice communications solutions, introduced its newest Polycom wireless handsets – the KIRK 70-Handset Series. The Polycom KIRK 70-Handset Series is the latest addition to Polycom's award-winning DECT portfolio, and include a feature set dedicated to meeting the unique needs of healthcare professionals, including improved durability, messaging capabilities, as well as easy clean and disinfectant resistant handset surfaces.

Designed with healthcare professionals in mind the new KIRK 70-Handsets improve mobility, responsiveness and efficiency in an environment where real-time communication is critical. In addition, the new handsets have added hygienic features including resistance to disinfectants, thereby reducing the risk of spreading disease. The handsets provide a ruggedised and application-enabled solution ideal for integrating with nurse call, patient monitoring, equipment monitoring and personal safety systems, such as automatically detected alarms for man down, no movement, running and tear off, within any healthcare environment. Special healthcare alarm icons have been developed for these handsets making the messages and alarms easy, fast and intuitive to understand.

The Polycom KIRK 7010 handset is available now through Polycom's certified channel partners at a MSRP of €250/$365, the Polycom KIRK 7020 at a MSRP of €300/$438 and the Polycom KIRK 7040 at a MSRP of €460/$672. The new KIRK 70-Handsets are available in Europe (excluding Russia and CIS), Australia and New Zealand.
