SpectraLink Certified Messaging Application (SCMA) Program

Customers are excited by the prospect of real time messaging to better leverage their investment in SpectraLink Wireless Telephone. However, they also want assurance that a messaging product solution interfaces seamlessly with SpectraLink products, has appropriate documentation and provides adequate customer support. Interoperability testing and subsequent SCMA designation increases customer confidence that solutions will perform to their highest expectations.

The SCMA Certification Program verifies documentation and interoperability with applications developed using Polycom’s open application interface (OAI) protocol. OAI enables third-party applications to send and respond to real-time text messages and alerts using SpectraLink Wireless Telephones. Polycom offers a developer package that provides the necessary information to integrate applications with SpectraLink Wireless Telephones. For a list of application providers please refer to the SCMA provider matrix.

OAI benefits include:

  • Priority text message
  • Direct response from users
  • Escalate and/or forward requests
  • Command and control capabilities
  • Audible alerts
  • Group messaging

Compatibility testing is a formal process using an independent lab facility to verify a vendor's support documentation and interoperability to ensure that OAI messaging applications interface seamlessly with SpectraLink products.
